In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to find SCCM task sequence size. When you have multiple task sequences in ConfigMgr, there is a simple trick for determining their total size.
Starting with Configuration Manager 2010, a new feature allows the administrators to calculate the size of the task sequence from the console. Administrators had to use a PS script to determine the size of task sequences prior to the release of this version. But now, you don’t need a PowerShell script to check the size of the task sequence anymore.
Determining the SCCM task sequence size will help you identify large task sequences that may cause issues. If your task sequence is taking a long time to complete, it could be due to it’s size and the number of steps in it. Large task sequences take time to execute, resulting in a very slow total time for operating system deployment.
How to Find SCCM Task Sequence size
Here’s how you can determine the size of the task sequence from the SCCM console:
- Launch the Configuration Manager console.
- Go to Software Library > Operating Systems and select Task Sequences.
- The Size (KB) column shows the total size of the selected task sequence.
On newly installed Configuration Manager setup, the size (KB) column may not be shown. You’ll have to add the Size (KB) column by right-clicking on a column detail name and selecting the Size (KB) column.
We believe that you have learnt to determine the size of the task sequence. That’s all we wanted to cover in this tutorial. Thank you for reading. If you enjoyed it, please like and share this article, tagging CloudGuides.
